The Big Idea
At its core, Cub Scouts is about three simple things:
Having FUN
Building CHARACTER
Learning LIFE SKILLS
Kids don’t join for lectures—they join because it’s exciting. They build things, explore the outdoors, make friends, and try new activities… and along the way, they’re developing confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Cub Scouts is organized in a way that’s easy for families:
Dens (small groups): Kids are grouped with others in the same grade and meet regularly to do activities and earn badges
Pack (big group): All the dens come together about once a month for fun events, games, and recognition
Family involvement: Parents are part of the experience and help make it great
This structure helps kids feel a sense of belonging while building friendships and confidence.
A better question might be… what don’t they do?
Here are just some of the things Cub Scouts experience:
🏕️ Camping, hiking, and outdoor adventures
🛠️ Building projects (like Pinewood Derby cars!)
🔬 Hands-on science and creative activities
🏃 Games, sports, and team challenges
🤝 Community service projects
🎤 Skits, songs, and fun pack events
Everything is designed to be age-appropriate and exciting, so kids are always engaged and learning.
Through all the fun, Cub Scouts helps kids:
Build confidence and independence
Learn teamwork and leadership
Develop respect, responsibility, and kindness
Discover new interests and skills
Make lasting friendships
It’s a program focused on helping kids “do their best” and grow at their own pace.
One of the things parents love most is that Cub Scouts is something you do together.
