Since 1914, Good Shepherd Church has hosted scouts. Pack 2036 is Pearl River’s only remaining local Cub Scout Pack, serving boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our time tested program is hands‑on, family‑friendly, and focused on helping children grow into confident, capable individuals — all while having fun with friends.
Our leaders and families are a part of Pearl River's community, working together to give kids great experiences and make a positive impact. Some reasons to join us are:
Fun, hands‑on activities every month
Build confidence, skills, and friendships
Family‑friendly program for K–5
At Pack 2036, kids don’t just sit, they do.
Race their own car in the Pinewood Derby
Go camping under the stars
Explore nature on hikes
Try hands-on STEM projects like the Bridge CRUSH
Build confidence, leadership, and teamwork
Spend quality time with friends and family
Every month brings something new and something they’ll be excited to tell you about.

This spring, our families went 20 minutes north to Camp Bullowa in Stony Point. We went on hikes, cooked, and learned archery!
The Spring Campout at Camp Bullowa in April was a MAGICAL experience! We went on hikes, learned archery and how to build a fire, we built and launched rockets, and had a campfire ceremony with a magician, skits, and s'mores!
The cub scouts teamed up with Troop 36 at our Annual Scrap Metal Drive Fundraiser. The community of Pearl River came together to donate a truckload of metal to help fund our future campouts. Cub scouts learned how to take apart, chop, and sort different types of metal.
We were the FIRST scouts to look through the new telescope at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
"I never knew seeing Saturns rings were on my bucket list! I just added and crossed it off the list in one night! 🤣" — Parent
Pearl River's Excelsior Fire Engine Company showed us the BIG yellow Firetrucks and even let us try out the firehose!
